Beginning a blog…

This week we are starting to create a blog. So far it has been rather confusing, it is always hard to use new software but it is all a learning process.

Using WordPress has been difficult as I have never used this program before. Whilst starting to create this blog it has been stressful but I am confident that I will be able to use this program by the end of the course.

The class has been very helpful towards each other as has our teacher, its important for us all to be supportive of each other so that we can make it through together!!!

What have we learnt??

The learning that has taken place this week has been interesting, I have set up a new account with WordPress which took a while to understand but we got there!! We have discussed the six different tasks that we have to complete for the first part of the assessment which is all on http://moodle.bradfordcollege.ac.uk

Each week I will add to my blog to keep a record of what I have learnt that week and think about critically analyzing, evaluating and identifying the key learning that has taken place. I will also blog about any interesting events I have done at my workplace.

So, these last couple of weeks have been very hectic in preperation for SATs week. A lot of staff have been moved in to year 6 (including me) to help ensure that the children will hit age related in their levels.

Trying to Code

This week we have been learning how to do coding which involves giving a character different instructions to get to a destination.

I have completed the hour of code in twenty minutes. I found this very easy as we teach coding within my school. This then led to helping other people out with their coding activity which has been rather enjoyable.

Making big circles

This week during our forest school session we looked at how to mark out a large circle, we did this as the children have been learning how to use a compass in their Maths lessons. Here is an example of a child walking in a circle around a stick to create a large circle that is evenly drawn.

The children loved doing this as they then used the spray paint to mark this out on the football pitch.
